the port, seafood restaurant, waterfront hotel, lahug, cebu city

yahoo....found another eat all you can restaurant....the port, seafood restaurant, waterfront hotel, lahug, cebu city...for PhP 299 you can already avail of the port's eat all you can dinner....they have lots of appetizers....seaweeds of different sorts....ensaladang talong...ensaladang mangga...kropek...squid/fish balls....the appetizers alone can already make you full....i loved the seaweeds....i seldom find them here in metro manila so i was happy to see seaweeds on the buffet table...

then they have steamed rice as well as yang chow fried rice...of course in got the fried rice....it tasted good....lots of toppings....not so oily....

they have a lot of viands although not as many as those you would usually find in buffet restaurants here in manila (adobo, longganisang cebu, pork this and pork that, chicken this and chicken that)....the longganisa (chorizo according to the label) was my favorite....different from longganisa in manila....different from longganisang lucban, longganisang vigan and longganisang cabanatuan.....not too sweet....not a lot of fats....not too garlic-ky....the fried chicken was crispy and flavorful....but they come in very, very small pieces....you have to get a lot to be able to really enjoy it...i wonder why they opted to serve them in tiny pieces....people tend to get several pieces because of that...they could have chosen to prepare big servings and surely people will just get a piece or two....

they also have soup (it was nilagang baka to me but they call it by a different name)....of course a cebu meal will never be complete without the lechong cebu...unfortunately they only present a very small lechon so if you come in late you'll not get the chance to savor its great, great, great taste....the skin is so crispy i could still hear the cracking sound up to this time.....hmmm....and the oil dripping on my lips.....never mind that....

dessert is also part of the buffet...they have fruits...lots of them.....donuts.....other sweets....buko pandan.....ice cream....but since i'm not fond of desserts i just got pineapple slices....a perfect way to end a sumptuous meal....

hmmmm.....before i end may i ask if you noticed something unusual with what they serve at the port, seafood restaurant, waterfront hotel, lahug, cebu city.....let me ask that again....did you notice anything unusual with what they serve at the port, seafood restaurant, waterfront hotel, lahug, cebu city.....yup....its a seafood restaurant.....but apart from the seaweeds they didn't serve any seafood....no fish, no shrimp, no crabs...hmmmmm....

vanille cafe and patisserie, ayala center, cebu city

after eating lechon the next i did here in cebu was have coffee in a local coffee shop...yes, they have starbucks, seattles's best,bo's coffee, etc. but i wanted to try something not available in manila so i tried vanille cafe and patisserie at ayala center...i sampled their cafe americano...yes, i know....it's just brewed coffee....but, hey, that's what i like so that's what i got....i had one in a big mug....let me say that again....BIG mug....its nothing different from all the cafe americanos that i've tried....what do you expect from a very basic cup of coffee....but i like the ambiance of the coffee shop...

this was taken inside the shop...we sat in one of those tables outside...can you see the real trees?

my companion and i stayed at one of the tables outside to feel the fresh air....unlike in metro manila the air at the ayala center smelled fresh....the view was great also....you'll see greens that didn't look like plastic plants....the only thing that i didn't like was the umbrella....it was green....almost the same as the one they use at all starbucks outlets.....it would have been nicer if they used something different....say a purple umbrella?....why purple?....their chairs inside are purple.....weird?....no....they were nice to look at....

nice chairs

they also served cakes....but we didn't order any...we were full.....we ate lechon cebu, right?....

yummy looking cakes

the place was clean.....and the cr was also nice although it was a small.....

inside the cr

that coffee experience was great.....a good 'first' activity in cebu...well, it was second....but i consider the lunch as required so i don't want to consider it as a first activity....do i make sense....no?....oh, well.....but i must say,if you are a coffee lover and you happen to be here in cebu, try vanille cafe and patisserie.....
